How to Clean Text Copied from Word

Microsoft Word documents are full of hidden formatting, XML tags, and styling code. When you paste this into other applications, it breaks things. PText.io strips it all out.

1. Select your text in Microsoft Word (Ctrl+A or Cmd+A).
2. Click Open Free Editor above.
3. Paste your text. We detect and remove all Word-specific formatting and styles.
4. Copy the result. It is now pure plain text.

Why Word formatting is a problem

Word was built for print, not the web. It adds invisible "Smart Tags," custom XML namespaces, and heavy inline styles to every paragraph.
